Sabrina Pertot, Marketing Manager at Cesare Regnoli & Son, explains the decision to use Halopack by Box Marche as the new, sustainable packaging for the take-away product line of the historic Bologna-based company, a leader in the ready-to-eat seafood sector.

The Medusa brand, created by Regnoli, has become synonymous with excellence in the ready-to-eat seafood market. Medusa represents the perfect fusion of tradition and modernity, with particular attention to sustainability and the selection of high-quality raw materials. Medusa products offer consumers the opportunity to enjoy genuine and tasty fish dishes, ensuring both convenience and flavor. Over the years, Regnoli has continued to grow and innovate, always maintaining a strong focus on the environment and sustainability—central elements in its corporate philosophy.
The transition to Halopack paper packaging was driven by the growing market demand for more eco-friendly solutions and frequent customer requests for sustainable packaging. Major retailers have also pressured the industry to use recyclable or biodegradable materials. Adopting Halopack has allowed us to meet these requirements as well. Halopack, with its balance of sustainability and efficiency, significantly reduces plastic usage while maintaining high standards of protection and preservation.
Our collaboration with Box Marche began in search of a more sustainable packaging solution. From the very beginning, they proved to be an ideal partner, capable of understanding our needs and proposing innovative solutions. Their expertise in paper processing and technologies for reducing environmental impact was fundamental in creating our sustainable packaging. Moreover, we share the same values and commitment to sustainability and innovation, which made the collaboration smooth and focused on achieving high-quality results. Box Marche has significantly contributed to reducing plastic usage and improving the customer experience, while also strengthening the sustainable image of our brand.
Our environmental sustainability strategy is based on a long-term vision aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our activities by adopting innovative solutions that minimize the use of non-renewable resources and promote recycling and circularity.
The adoption of Halopack fits perfectly into this strategy, as it allows us to drastically reduce the use of plastic in our packaging by 28 tons less per year, replacing it with highly recyclable, paper-based materials. This directly contributes to our commitment to waste reduction and improving the sustainability of our products.
With Halopack, we are significantly reducing our ecological footprint, thanks to the use of renewable materials and the fact that the packaging is fully recyclable and FSC certified. This allows us to cut down on the use of petroleum-derived resources and reduce CO2 emissions related to the production and disposal of packaging.
Adopting Halopack is also a sign of our commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry, meeting the growing consumer expectations for environmental sustainability. This allows us not only to do our part for the environment but also to position ourselves as responsible and innovative leaders in our sector.
Halopack is just one of many initiatives we have planned to reduce the environmental impact of our activities. The process of adopting this type of packaging will extend to other formats and products, while we continue to explore new technologies and materials to further improve our long-term sustainability.
