For the new Alluflon Berndes RE-GENERATION line made from 100% recycled aluminum, Boxmarche designed the packaging in 100% recycled cardboard sourced from FSC-certified forests.
Alluflon Group is one of the leaders in the sector of non-stick cookware and cooking utensils with Alluflon, Moneta and Berndes brands. For them the environmental sustainability topic is essential not only to distinguish themselves from their adversaries, but especially as a philosophy to produce in a “good” and sustainable way, to bring benefits for everyone. Not just marketing, but also a way of existing, testified also by certifications such as ISO 14001 and SA8000 about environmental management and social responsibility of the company.
Cinzia Casagrande, Sales and Marketing Director at Alluflon, confirms that customers are increasingly aware of their choices, preferring products with a low impact on the environment and raw materials sourced from the circular economy. For this reason, products incorporating these characteristics are becoming more and more successful. There is great attention to ensuring that such sustainable innovations are genuine and measurable, rather than mere "greenwashing" efforts. For this reason, the company has chosen to certify the supply chain of the materials used, as well as the actual post-consumer recycled origin of the aluminium, through an external body (UL).
Offering sustainable and eco-friendly products is both a market choice and a core business approach adopted by Alluflon. This commitment persists despite technological challenges. To produce the new RE-GENERATION Bakeware line under the Berndes brand they developed new technologies, as post-consumer recycled aluminium alloy has different hardness properties compared to the aluminium typically used for cookware production. Thanks to the advanced technologies employed, Alluflon has succeeded in creating a high-quality product that delivers excellent baking performance, heat distribution, and non-stick properties.
Thanks to the technologies developed by Alluflon, Berndes RE-GENERATION products offer performance and characteristics comparable to those made with traditional aluminium alloys, with the benefit of reducing environmental impact. In fact, producing 1kg of recycled aluminium requires 95% less energy compared to the production of the same amount of primary aluminium. Moreover, the aluminium used for the RE-GENERATION Bakeware line is food-safe, as it comes from the recycling of food cans.
Packaging serves to protect the product during transport, and it plays a crucial role in communication with consumers. For this reason, the Berndes RE-GENERATION Bakeware line features packaging made from unbleached cardboard with FSC Recycled certification, in line with the product’s sustainability characteristics. The unique pack design ensures proper product presentation in stores, without plastic bags in primary transport, further enhancing the eco-friendly nature of this Berndes product line.
Consumers prefer products with a low environmental impact, a short supply chain, and made-in-Italy quality—just like the Berndes RE-GENERATION Bakeware line. This trend has also led a well-known large-scale retail chain to launch a collection built around these Alluflon products. The initiative is a win-win solution: it enhances the retailer’s image by showcasing its commitment to sustainability while allowing consumers to earn a high-performance, eco-friendly kitchen product as a reward for their purchases.
